ROOTED PLUMERIA PLANT IN A STARTER POT:

  • Each plant is rooted, minimum 8 months old. Root size can vary.

  • Plant (including pot) size is about 15 - 20 inches tall (depending on leaf size) and comes in a 4-inch starter pot.

    • NOTE: During the fall - early spring, the plumeria goes dormant, meaning it drops all its leaves and any blooms it may have. If you order a potted plumeria during this time, it will look like a bare cutting. Understand that with your good care, it will again sprout leaves and resume growing in the spring/summer. If you order the potted plumeria plant during the hibernation period please:

      • Do NOT expect plumeria to have any leaves during their hibernation period

      • Do NOT email us saying it looks pitiful and that you’re disappointed. That is how they look during that time of the year

      • Do NOT repot it during this time

  • Plant may have blooms, although blooms are not guaranteed

  • Available in Pink, White, Yellow

  • Dark Maroon is only available as a potted plant

  • The dark maroon is harder to start and is more delicate than most plumeria varieties. We release very limited quantities once a year. This exotic plant is suitable for indoor or outdoor (depending on your climate) growth, but you may prefer to keep a close eye on it. If you already have other plumeria colors, THIS is the one to add to your collection! Limited quantities available!

How to grow Plumerias:

From a plant:

Place in direct sun.  Water until the planting media is soaked, then let the soil dry out before watering again.  Feed it with a general garden fertilizer or a timed-released fertilizer.  Ideal temperature range is 60℉ to 90℉.  Keep in mind that plumerias go dormant in the winter and "come back" in the spring. Translation: They will drop their leaves and look pretty much gone. As long as the stalk is not mushy, it's okay.

When is a good time to replant?

This question arises quite often, so you're not alone in asking. Our potted plumeria starters come in a four inch pot, and typically doesn't need to be replanted right away. You'll know it's time to replant however, once you begin to notice that your plumeria plant has taken root. Here is an example of what that will look like:

Notice the white stuff that looks like spaghetti? Those are the roots breaking the surface of the soil. When you see this, it's an excellent indicator that it is time to repot.

Our opinion...why buying the growing plant is a better idea...

Sure, it sounds self serving to tout the more expensive product. But there are some very practical reasons why the growing plant is the best value for your dollar:

  1. It's already growing. It may seem obvious, but isn't it much easier to take over where our growing efforts have left off, than for you to start from an earlier stage?

  2. (More or less), instant gratification. Well, let's show you a couple of pictures that explain this better:

We think reasons #1 and #2 stand on their own merit.
